Restorative Yoga w/Massage & Vedic Wisdom in SE Portland.
What to Expect
Most rest is something you do alone, on your own time, hoping your body remembers how. Restorative Yoga w/Massage & Vedic Wisdom is rest you are guided into, supported through, and worked with the whole way.
In this small Sellwood class, never more than four people, you settle into a series of deeply supported postures, propped so completely that your body can finally let go. While you rest, Mindy moves through the room with hands-on bodywork, releasing tension you may not have known you were holding. A quiet thread of Vedic wisdom is woven through, grounding the practice from above. It is part yoga, part massage, and entirely about letting your nervous system reset.
This is for you if
You are exhausted in a way that ordinary sleep has not touched
You want the benefits of bodywork and the benefits of restorative yoga in a single session
You find it hard to relax on your own and want to be guided into genuine rest
You love the intimacy of a small and detailed class
You are navigating a stressful season, and your nervous system needs somewhere to land
What happens
You arrive and settle in. There is nothing to perform here and nothing to push through. Mindy guides you into the first supported posture and arranges the props, bolsters, blankets, whatever your body needs, so you are held completely.
Once you are settled, the bodywork begins. As you rest in each pose, Mindy moves through the small group, offering hands-on touch, releasing the places that are holding. Throughout, she weaves in a quiet thread of Vedic wisdom, an offering shared with the whole room rather than a reading for any one person.
Over the 75 minutes, you move through a small sequence of held postures, each one an invitation to go a little deeper into rest. You do nothing. The class does the work for you.
Why it feels different
In this class, you rest while a Licensed Massage Therapist with over 27 years of experience offers hands on therapeutic touch.
Mindy is not only holding space, but she is also working with the same intuition and clinical depth she brings to her treatment table, in the most relaxed setting she offers. Add the intimacy of a four-person cap and a thread of Vedic timing, and you have an experience that does not really exist anywhere else in Sellwood or Portland: a class where you are supported, guided, and physically cared for, all at once.
After class
After Restorative Yoga w/ Massage & Vedic Wisdom
You feel unwound in a way that is hard to describe and even harder to find. Your body is softer, your breath is slower, and your nervous system has finally caught up with you. Many students say it is the most rested they have felt in months.
You leave a little more at home in your body than when you arrived.
"Mindy is the kind of teacher who learns your body. Her deep listening results in care that is lasting."
- Meghann Wilkonson, Dancer

Movement is the first language. Everything else grew from it.
Mindy has been teaching yoga for over twenty years, drawing from 550+ hours of training, including 300 hours with Gabriel Halpern in the Iyengar tradition and 50 hours of Dharma Yoga. Her teaching is inseparable from her bodywork. 30+ years as a professional dancer and licensed massage therapist means she doesn't just cue a posture. She sees how your body organizes itself inside it, where it compensates, and what it needs to find ease. Every class is informed by a sprinkle of Vedic Astrology, the day's lunar transit, and the energetic shakti woven into the practice as a lens, not a lecture.
All yoga takes place in her intimate Sellwood studio with a maximum of four people. She offers weekly Restorative Yoga with Massage and Vedic Wisdom, small group Hatha, and one-on-one Focused Yoga and Movement sessions built entirely around your body. If you are looking for a teacher who sees you, adjusts to you, and works with your body rather than a room full of bodies, she would love to have you on the mat.
