Small-Group Yoga in SE Portland.
What to Expect
A class to build strength and flexibility. Of body. Of mind. Of Spirit.
Her small-group classes are capped at four students, held in her quiet Sellwood studio, and shaped around the people who actually show up that day. With over 550 hours of teacher training and decades of practice behind her, Mindy’s classes are steeped in alignment and informed by Vedic wisdom. In a class of four, she can offer real adjustments, real hands-on attention, and the time to actually feel what is happening.
This is for you if
You want the attention of a private session in the warmth of a small group
You have felt lost, rushed, or invisible in a crowded studio class
You are working with an injury or limitation and need a teacher who can adapt
You are a beginner who wants to learn properly, with room to ask questions
You are a longtime practitioner ready to slow down and refine rather than push harder
What happens
We practice together in sangha (community). It can be any size and all have their merits.
A class of four is special. Mindy can see everybody in the room at once. She can offer a hands-on adjustment to one student, modify a pose for another, and meet a beginner exactly where they are, all in the same class. Nobody disappears into the back row. Everyone is taught.
It is the closest thing to private instruction you will find in a group setting, at a fraction of the cost of a one-on-one session.

"Mindy is the kind of teacher who learns your body. Her deep listening results in care that is lasting."

MINDY'S TRAINING AND LINEAGE
Mindy's yoga training spans three traditions and over five hundred hours of formal study:
200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Sellwood Yoga, in her own neighborhood.
300-hour Iyengar Alignment Based Yoga Teacher Training with Chicago’s Gabriel Halpern.
50-hour LOAY Teacher Training with Dharma Mittra Yoga.
She continues to study, to practice, and to learn alongside her students. Her yoga is not separate from her bodywork or her decades of dance; all of it is part of the same conversation about how a body is meant to move.
Yoga & MassageAs everyone arrives, we take time to settle in, get comfortable, and begin connecting with those around us. The journey starts here.

Movement is the first language. Everything else grew from it.
Mindy has been teaching yoga for over twenty years, drawing from 550+ hours of training, including 300 hours with Gabriel Halpern in the Iyengar tradition and 50 hours of Dharma Yoga. Her teaching is inseparable from her bodywork. 30+ years as a professional dancer and licensed massage therapist means she doesn't just cue a posture. She sees how your body organizes itself inside it, where it compensates, and what it needs to find ease. Every class is informed by a sprinkle of Vedic Astrology, the day's lunar transit, and the energetic shakti woven into the practice as a lens, not a lecture.
All yoga takes place in her intimate Sellwood studio with a maximum of four people. She offers weekly Restorative Yoga with Massage and Vedic Wisdom, small group Hatha, and one-on-one Focused Yoga and Movement sessions built entirely around your body. If you are looking for a teacher who sees you, adjusts to you, and works with your body rather than a room full of bodies, she would love to have you on the mat.
